The Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi (DCT - Abu Dhabi) has just announced that it’s slashing its government fee on hotels. It’s time to save some bucks while enjoying the luxurious hospitality that the capital is known for. This new policy goes into effect from Friday, 1 September.
First things first, that pesky tourism fee that used to hover around six per cent is now dropping to four per cent. And if you enjoy a good meal at hotel restaurants, here's another reason to celebrate. The six per cent tourism fee and four per cent municipality fee that used to tag along with your dining experience have now been removed too.

Remember the AED15 per room per night municipality fee? Well, it's bidding us adieu, too. However, the four per cent municipality fee based on the invoice value will remain in the picture.
