The new transport system will allow for easier commuting within the city.
As roads are becoming increasingly congested, Jeddah is on a mission to make commuting easy. The bustling Red Sea city has launched Water Taxis to help make your daily commute a breeze.
Experience the scenic routes on the Red Sea, which have been launched this Ramadan, running from Al Balad to Jeddah Yacht Club.
In the first phase of the Jeddah Water Taxi project, two boats are available. One boat can carry 94 passengers, while the other can carry 55 passengers. The Jeddah Water Taxi system operates from 3.30pm to 1.30am every day during Ramadan. The transport fares range from SAR 25 to SAR 50 per trip and are free of charge for children. There is also a special entry and exit for people with disabilities, and it has a capacity for up to four wheelchairs. Golf carts will be available at the ports to provide transport for people to and from the port.

The mayor of Jeddah, Saleh Al Turki, recently launched the Water Taxi project. The first phase of the test runs will cover three main areas: Jeddah Yacht Club, the historic Al Balad area, and Sharm Obhur, which will begin operations soon. More locations will be added to these routes in the near future.
The project will result in 20 state-of-the-art water taxi stations. This is a thrilling new addition to enhance Jeddah’s transport, which aligns with Vision 2030.
An app is also available for you to book water taxi trips online, and other details are included by the Jeddah Transport.
Whether you are visiting Jeddah Yacht Club for a quick bite or coffee and want to visit the city’s exciting spots, the water taxi is available to take you for a fun ride.
