The family-born concept has drawn inspiration from Persian royalty.

Abu Dhabi, if you want cuisine fit for royalty, then put Belgrave on your radar. With restaurants in Dubai and London, the brand has opened in the capital. Priding itself on serving fine dining Persian cuisine, here’s what to expect from Belgrave Abu Dhabi.

Belgrave was first born in St John’s Wood, London, near where The Beatles’ Abbey Road album cover was shot. The concept was created by the siblings Amin and Honey Ebra. Amin is the head chef and co-owner, Honey is the co-owner. The pair have drawn inspiration from their family’s love of food, as their grandfather was once the head chef to a Persian royal family.

Belgrave Abu Dhabi’s menu combines Persian flavours and hospitality with Eastern and Western cuisine. The menu covers starters, soups, salads and stews. The chef’s specials include Bagheli Polo Lamb Shank (slow-cooked lamb), Makkaroni (homemade spaghetti with minced meat), and Maygoo Polo (pan-fried prawns). Plus, the specially made dish, London to Abu Dhabi, is a lamb neck slow-cooked for six hours and served on green rice.

Belgrave Abu Dhabi is a plush place, which has been influenced by interiors for the Persian royal family. The décor includes marble floors, velvet seats and, of course, Persian rugs. The venue includes low-hanging lights, patterned cushions and gold touches across the furniture and walls.

Great for groups, there are semi-circle banquettes, which are great for those sharing platters. Lookout for the copper coffee machine, which is a shiny spectacle, topped with a small gold bird.

Belgrave Abu Dhabi is located on the first floor of Red Crescent. The restaurant is open from Monday to Saturday from noon to 11pm, and on Sundays from noon to 11pm.
