Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has been appointed as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

The UAE President, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has issued an Emiri decree. In his capacity as Ruler of Abu Dhabi, he has appointed Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed as Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

President Sheikh Mohamed has announced a series of major appointments. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed and Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed have been appointed as Deputy Rulers of Abu Dhabi.

Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed is the eldest son of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed is the son of the founder of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed also serves as the National Security Advisor of the UAE. He is the chairman of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, and the chairman of the emirate’s state fund, ADQ.

The President of the UAE has appointed Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of the Presidential Court, as UAE Vice President. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is the brother of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed. His appointment has been made alongside Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai congratulated the newly appointed leaders.

On Twitter, Sheikh Mohammed posted: “I congratulate my brother Sheikh Hazza, Sheikh Tahnoun, Sheikh Mansour and Sheikh Khalid bin Muhammad for the confidence of the President of the State. In you and your brothers, the leaders of the new generation, the march continues.”
