Perrier-Jouët has announced a collaboration with Sunset Hospitality Group (SHG). The partnership shines a spotlight on female leadership in the world of fine wine and champagne. At the heart of this initiative is one of the region’s few female Head Sommeliers, Agathe Plantade, who leads wine programs for SHG’s Daylife Division across Dubai and Europe.
Agathe is a renowned Head Sommelier and hospitality consultant with over 15 years of experience. Based in Dubai and trained in France, Agathe has worked at prestigious venues like Alain Ducasse’s Restaurant Aux Lyonnais and The Dorchester. She later held top roles at One&Only The Palm in Dubai and Rémy Restaurant on Disney Fantasy. In 2016, she opened two restaurants in France, gaining local acclaim. Since 2022, she has consulted for restaurants and hotels in France and Dubai, improving their wine and hospitality offerings.
A key highlight of this collaboration is the seamless integration of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut across SHG’s key outlets. Perrier-Jouët takes center stage as the exclusive champagne for Ladies Day at DRIFT Beach Dubai. Perrier-Jouët is also available at locations including Azure, Ammos, Aura Skypool, Bâoli, and Tapasake.

Agathe’s journey to becoming a Head Sommelier in Dubai is a story of passion and perseverance. Having faced challenges as a woman in the field, she was inspired to pursue her role abroad after a defining moment with a guest who questioned her position as a sommelier. Today, she manages wine and champagne programs across multiple venues, overseeing menus, supplier relationships, and daily operations, all while bringing fresh ideas and innovation to the role.
Agathe’s approach ensures there’s a wide selection that cater to different tastes and budgets, creating a comprehensive and thoughtful wine and champagne experience for guests. She explains: “Running the wine and champagne program for such a large company isn’t always easy, but I love what I do. For new venues, I create the wine and champagne programs from scratch, and for existing venues, I redesign the lists to reflect the concept and guest preferences.”
