The world-famous boyband member is the new face of the luxury jewellery company.
Lots of legendary brands struggle to remain relevant, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with Tiffany & Co. The luxury jewellery company has unveiled its new brand ambassador: Jimin from the K-pop boyband, BTS.
Jimin, full name Park Ji-min, hails from Busan, South Korea. He is known around the world as one of the members of BTS. The group have sold more than 30 million albums and are the best-selling artists in South Korean history. He was the first member to launch a solo career: his solo song Serendipity notched up 100 million views on YouTube, and he has announced the release of his first solo album, FACE.
Now, Jimin has added another accolade to his career as Tiffany & Co’s brand ambassador. Jimin explained: “It is a great honour to partner with Tiffany and embody the values of a brand that has a passion for design, innovation and artistry.”
Alexandre Arnault, Executive Vice President of Product and Communications, added: “We are looking forward to welcoming multifaceted artist and performer Jimin of BTS as our newest House ambassador. He embodies the energy, style and sense of modernity that epitomises Tiffany and Co. We are proud and incredibly excited to unveil our future campaigns with him launching later this spring.”
This is the second time that Tiffany & Co has partnered with a K-pop star, as it previously worked with the BLACKPINK singer Rose. Plus, it recently announced its first Arab brand ambassador, Lebanese singer Nancy Arjam.
Previous Tiffany & Co.’s brand ambassadors include Anya Taylor Joy, Gal Gadot and Tracee Ellis Ross. Plus, in a bid to attract a more diverse audience, it welcomed Jay-Z and Beyoncé Knowles (aka Dubai’s celebrity of the moment, after she performed at the grand opening of Atlantis The Royal).
Tiffany & Co, we’re dazzled.
